COME SEE THE RENATO CASARO EXHIBIT IN TREVISO!

The latest poster designer of cinema, May 2, 2021

Renato Cesaro is an Italian artist known for his film posters and advertisements, he was born on October 26, 1935, in our city, Treviso and became famous thanks to films such as: My Name Is Nobody, Quadrophenia, Conan the Barbarian, Tenebrae, Octopussy, etc. He began his artistic career at the age of 17, at the Cinema Garibaldi in Treviso, where he made free posters for films in exchange for admission to the theater club. Initially he reproduces and is inspired by other illustrators of the time, such as Norman Rockwell and Angelo Cesselon, whose works he tried to reproduce to practice and understand the production process and techniques.
Every day he went to the cinema to be able to see if the posters were changing, and if they were, he would ask the person who delivers the tickets to the show if it was possible to take them home, where he could try to reproduce them.
In 1953, at the age of 18, Renato found a job as a staff artist at Studio Favalli, a famous design and art studio in the Roman film industry. In Rome, at the age of 21, Renato opened his art studio in Cinecittà, becoming the first filmmaker in Italy, in fact his first work was taken from William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. From here on his real career begins, working together with great directors and screenwriters such as Francis Coppola, Claude Lelouch, and how to forget Sergio Leone, of whom Renato has reproduced almost all of his films, becoming famous here in Italy thanks to western films and cult movies. Even Tarantino, many years later, asked him to make the poster for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. At an advanced age, he also dedicated himself to the future of Claudio, his son, to the same profession so that he too could participate, while providing him with the work to do.
The exhibition will take place at the Civic Museums of Treviso, in the headquarters of Santa Caterina, with the opening date of the exhibition to the public on 13 June 2021. We are waiting for you!!!
